I know this happened after you closed the gap. Make sure you check the timing again.

0:00:25.4 Early. Subtitle appears prior to the actor
speaking. Move beginning of segment to
    the right.

    0:00:34.2 Early

0:00:34.2 Extend the end of the segment. Part of what he says bleeds into the next
segment. Extend the segment to keep the
    actor’s dialogue in one segment.

0:00:42.1 Ctrl + ← Move the beginning of this segment to the
left. The green line indicates where the
segment should start. I am suggesting
this because she is speaking fast. When you move the beginning of the segment
    the word flow seems better.

0:00:43.3 Split (press spacebar). At the beginning of the segment, he says something
and then she does. Then there is a long
pause. So split after the pause.

    0:00:43.3 Split After
you split the above, split this segment again where the green line
    indicates. She says something….then
begs. The words will flow better when
split. Also close the slight gap at the
    end of this segment.

    0:00:53.2 Ctrl + ↑ Extend
the end of the segment to include all of the dialogue and add the two counts (1.0/1.5
seconds) after the last word spoken.

    0:00:56.3 Create a segment.
The actress says something…she is probably saying move. Voice this by creating a segment.

arrow back it shows early. When we

Move the beginning of the segment to the right. The subtitle box appears prior to the
speaking. The green line in the pic
indicates approximately where the segment should begin.

Close Gap Ctrl +↑Move end of the segment to the right and
merge the end of the segment to the beginning of the next segment. Gaps should be at least 1.0/1.5 seconds
long. This short gap causes the
    subtitles to flash.

    00:00:11.3 Late. Ctrl
+ ← Move the beginning of the segment to the left. I activated the segment. The green line in
the pic indicates where the words first appear on the screen. The subtitle box appears only inside those
brackets of the segment. Just move the beginning of the segment to the left so
the green line is just inside the bracket.

    0:00:13.1 Extend.
Ctrl + ↑ After the last word spoken in the segment, add to 2 counts (1.0/1.5 seconds) to the end of
the segment. It adds length to the
segment and provides the viewer with more time to read the subtitles.

0:00:15.3. Close gap Ctrl + ↑ The gap is less than 2 counts
or 1.0/1.5 seconds. Close the gap by
extending the end of the segment until it merges with the beginning of the next
    segment.

0:00:17.3 Combine. Ctrl + ↑ This segment with the word “Joy”
is to short. The subtitle for this word would flash by on the screen. The easiest way to combine this, is to delete
the last segment, then extend the “joy” segment to include the “oh boy, oh boy”,
and of course adding the 2 counts at the end of the segment.

The best way to check the timing is to pause the green line
over the gold line (beginning of the segment.

Then press P, F, or play and the speaker should immediately
be heard or the words appear.

Make these corrections, then review the rest of the video
and make changes applying these guidelines.

Kpop_madness second review for her RPV1.

    Hi Kpop_madness,

I checked your RPV1 until the 12.00 minute mark.
First of all, you have extend the end of your segments. As Roxie said, after an actor finishes talking start to count in your mind 1, 1. Count not too fast but not too slow either, and end your segment when you reach 2. You should have around 1.0 – 1.5 seconds at the end of each segment. I pointed out some segments in my review but it’s better for you to check all of them.

The segment after 10.45( I think it’s around 10.47) is still a bit early and you have to extend it more. Otherwise the slower readers won’t have enough time to read the subtitle from the screen.
    10.50 a bit early
    11.00 extend more.
the segment that comes after 11.10: a part of his line is left outside the segment.
    11.15 late
    11.20 a bit early
11.25 I would combine these 2 segments because it’s the same person who is speaking and they are both short (around 1 second each). If you have 2 consecutive segments which are this short and they contain lines spoken by the same actor, it’s better to combine them.
    11.30 is early
the segment that comes after 11.30 is an example of a sync segment.
the segment that comes after 11.35, the one which has the subtitle “Wait” inserted is an example of a sync segment and its also an example of a segment extended well. The segment ends 1 second after the says “Wait”. :) You can use this as an example when you extend the end of your segments.
11.40 is another example of a sync segment but you need to extend it a little more.
the segment after 11.45 is early and needs to be extended. My advice would be to extend this segment until you totally remove the no voice part between this segment and the next segment.
11.55 remove the no voice part that comes right before this segment. After you remove it make sure to check the timing of this segment because it’s early. :)
11.57 is a bit late. Also, remove the no voice part between this segment and the segment @12.00.

The word Joy appears on the screen about half way through the
segment. Move the beginning of the
segment to the right (the green line in the pic indicates approximately where the
segment should begin. After you correct
the timing, you notice the joy segment is short. Combine the joy segment with the segment that
follows. Delete the last segment and
extend Ctrl + ↑ the end of the joy segment to cover the area of the segment you
deleted. You should extend it further or create a new segment because the car
says, Let’s go. It needs to be voiced.

    0:00:21.3 Extend Ctrl
+ ↑ Extend the end of the segment for
two counts after the last word is spoken.
This adds length to the segment and provides more time for the viewer to
read the subtitles. After the last word
is spoken (or word disappears from the screen) slowly count 1, 2. End the segment on the 2 count.

0:00:33.2 Combine/ merge segments. The two segments should
be combine because the pick it up right now is said fast and hard to
separate. Keep the word disgust in the
segment when you combine or merge.
Delete the last segment then extend Ctrl + ↑ the segment with the word
disgust to cover the area you deleted.

    0:01:12.3 Late Ctrl +
← Move beginning of the segment to the left.
She starts to speak prior to the subtitle box appearing. I activated the segment to depict the
    brackets. The subtitle box appears
between the brackets. Even though the
green line (approximately where she begins to speak) is directly on the gold
line (beginning of the segment), it is outside of the bracket, so the subtitle
    box does not appear.

0:01:21.2 late Ctrl + ← move the beginning of the segment to
the right to include come on. I would
make “come one group hug” one
segment. Split (press space bar) when
she says “you too anger. This segment
would include, “you too anger. Don’t
    touch me.

0:10:46.2 Close the gap. The segment needs to be extended for two
counts. But when you count after the
last word spoken there is less than 4 counts from the last word to the

    length for a gap.

    0:00:20 The car says,
“let’s go.” So voice this part. Just extend the end of the segment and then
split to make the segment for the let’s go.
To extend the segment use Ctrl + ↑.
To split press the space bar.

0:00:28 Early Ctrl + → Move the beginning of the segment to
the right. The subtitles, “You have …”
appear prior to the words being spoken.
Also, close the gap Ctrl + ↑ that
appears at the end of the segment. Once
you close the gap you will have to adjust the timing of the next segment.

0:00:34 late Ctrl + ← The word disgust appears prior to the
    subtitle box appearing. Move the
beginning of the segment to the left.
The green line indicates approximately where the segment should begin. The next segment is late also.

    0:00:40 Delete. The
word Sadness that appears is really fast and the segment will fly by. So it is better to combine it with the next
segment. So it has length. After you
delete the Sadness segment, move the beginning of the segment, “You mean you
don’t…”, to the left. Ctrl + ←. Below
depicts how to delete a segment. Also
this segment is too long. The sounds
they are making we don’t voice. After “me”
is spoken count 1, 2, end the segment on the 2 count. (I accidently shortened
the segment, so no need to do this lol).

This is how you delete a segment. Click on the segment you are going to delete
to activate it. Near the bottom you will
see arrow and trashcan. Click the
trashcan and your segment will be deleted.

    0:0047 Too long. Ctrl
+ ↓ Move the end of the segment to the left.
After he says partner count 1, 2 (slowly, kind of) and end the segment
on the 2 count. 2 counts are about
    1.0/1.5 seconds long. Just remember
sounds, like crying etc are not voiced.

    0:01:00 Too long.
Ctrl + ↓ Move the end of the segment to the left. After the word disappears count 1,2 and end
the segment on the 2 count.

    0:01:05 Too long.
Ctrl + ↓ Move the end of the segment to the left. After the word disappears count 1,2 and end
the segment on the 2 count. The segment
that follows is early, so move the beginning of the segment to the right. Ctrl
    + →.

    A good method to
check timing is to pause the green line over the gold line(beginning of the
segment). Press play, p, or f the
speaker should immediately be heard or the words appear immediately on the
    screen.

In the pic below I activate the segment. When activated it shows when the green line
is pauses on the beginning of the segment is actually outside of the
segment. The subtitles appear when the
green line is inside the bracketed area.
By pausing on the beginning of the segment, you should not hear the
speaker or see words on the screen. Once you press play, p, or f the green line
enters the bracketed area and the speaker should be heard or the words appear.

This segment needs to be combined with the next segment because both
segments are short and will cause the subtitles to flash by on the screen. The first thing you do is delete the segment
that follows segment 0:00:22. Once you
delete that segment then extend segment 0:00:22 to cover the area deleted and
add the two counts after the last word is spoken. Just count 1, 2 slowly and end the segment on
the 2 count. The green line in pic
indicates approximately where my 2 counts ended. Below this pic is a pic to
show how to delete a segment.

To delete a segment, click on the segment you are going to
delete to activate it. Then click the trashcan.

    0:00:26 Extend Ctrl + ↑
You are going to close the gap by extending the end of the segment until

0:43.52 Late andSplit. The segment should actually start when he says “and” Enough length to put the speakers in separate segments. Split after he says, how about now.

0:44:21.3 Extend the end of the segment for 2 counts after the last word is spoken.

0:44:31 Late. I would start the segment when he says Let’s go

0:44:53 Too short. At the end of the segment he says something. Extend the segment to include that and add the 2 counts.

0:12:44 late. Move the beginning of the segment to the left.
    0:12:49 late.
    0:12:59 late
0:13:27 late He makes that sound prior to the beginning of the segment.
    0:13:30 close the gap.
There is less than 4 counts from the last word spoken to the beginning of the next segment. (2 counts are approximate 1.0/1.5 seconds).
0:13:37 Extend the end of the segment There is a slight pause, extend to the pause. It looks long but it is still around 5 seconds.
    0:15:32 Combine/merge segment 0:15:32 with segment 0:15:36.
